While you can participate in Hosanna activities or functions, you may choose to formalize your connection to Hosanna Lutheran Church—and God’s work through Hosanna—by becoming a disciple. Whether you have been a Lutheran all of your life, connected to another church, have been away from church for a long time, new to the Christian faith, or just want to know more, the first step is to attend a New Disciple Class. The one-time gathering for new disciples allows Hosanna staff members to get better acquainted with you and enables you to get to know other new disciples. You will also learn a bit about Hosanna’s history, mission and core values, what it means to be a disciple of Jesus, and tools for the trade. Ministry opportunities are also presented as part of the disciple class.
You do not need to contact anyone in advance; simply watch for an upcoming New Disciple Class (offered approximately every 2 months on a Thursday evening or on a Saturday morning) and show up! To find the next New Disciple Class, call the Hosanna office at 507-388-1766.
Jesus summed up what it means to be one of His disciples like this:
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35
